Team Associated rocks the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series in the Wild West!

The Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series unveiled another new track this season, The Wild West Motorsports Park in Sparks, NV just outside Reno. With the massive elevation changes, huge jumps, and fast speeds, the new venue made for great racing at the inaugural event.

Saturday racing started off as twelve Pro-4 short course trucks screamed down the hill and into two massive front stretch table tops to take the green flag! Team Associated drivers, Carl Renezeder, Kyle LeDuc, and the newest member to the team, Eric Barron, started to pull away from the field with Todd LeDuc closely behind, making the race a four-horse battle. Carl and Kyle were able to pull away from Eric, (who headed to the hot pits to change a flat rear tire) and showed the fans of Sparks why they are a strong force in the Pro-4 field. Kyle was able to put an aggressive pass on Carl to take the lead with a couple laps to go, and he was able to hold off the attempts from Carl. Kyle picked up his 7th win of the season and further stretched out his points lead heading into the later rounds of the season.

Later in the afternoon, the Pro-Lites took to the track with Casey Currie leading the pack from the pole position. The Pro-Lite race was the largest class this weekend with 22 trucks competing. Casey battled hard to hold the lead for much of the race and was able to get enough of a gap between him and the field to take the checked flag first and claim his first win of the season.

Sunday was a repeat of the intense energy and adrenaline that was let loose in Saturday's events. Like usual, Pro-4 started things off. Carl Renezeder started from the second row and was looking to get to the front and that's exactly what he did, driving his Lucas Oil/Team Associated truck to the lead, and he didn't give anyone a chance to come close to making a pass. Carl ran a fast and consistent pace that gave him plenty of breathing room over the rest of the pack. When all was said and done, Carl grabbed his 99th career short-course victory.

Pro-Lites came out next and made another first-time winner for the Team Associated racing team, with Ryan Beat piloting his Hart and Huntington, Premiere Motorsports Pro-Lite to the top of the podium. Ryan has been running strong all year, and would not be bothered by the attempts of Deegan as he raced to the checkered flag.

With the sun tucking behind the mountains and the light dimming, the Pro-2s ended the race weekend with a great one. Carl Renezeder was looking to pass last year's points champion Brian Deegan to claim his 100th win, and Carl looked for every opening he could find to make the pass happen, but the opportunity would not present itself. Brian was able to hold the lead from the start and claimed the win followed by Carl and Rob Mac.

The points championships are taking shape, but in this series, every point counts and someone's misfortune could become another's miracle.
