Haatanen with Breakout Performance at EOS #4

Team Associated's young Finnish star Joona Haatanen had quite a weekend at round 4 of the European Off-Road Series at the brand new Arena33 facility in Andernach, Germany. Taking the overall top qualifying position in 2WD with his Reedy-powered B6, the former Reedy Race 2WD Open class champion fought hard through the three A-Main events to finish third on the podium with a highlight win coming in A1. Joining him in the main, also driving Reedy-equipped B6s were Neil Cragg (fourth) and Joakim Nicoaisen (fifth).

In the 4WD class, Haatanen was able to build on his confidence from a successful 2WD campaign to qualify fifth driving his Reedy-powered B64. Driving beyond his years, the young 13-year-old again found the podium after three hard-fought A Mains to finish again third overall. Joining him, driving his Reedy/LRP-powered B64, was 2005 World Champion, Neil Cragg.

While the 2WD and 4WD classes are the premier events at the EOS, there is also a Modified Truck class that many of the top drivers chose to race for more track time and to develop the category of racing through Europe. Not surprisingly, Haatanen was again at the top of the time sheets, taking the TQ and win with his Reedy-powered T5M.
