Double wins at the TN Indoor State Off-Road Championships

Team Associated attended the 2021 TISOC on the Apex Raceway and Hobbies carpet cffroad track. Team drivers Justin Whitacre and Myron Battman Kinnard both were in attendance. The event had racers from all over the region including Alabama, Kentucky, Georgia, and Indiana. They came to battle on the off-road carpet track that had a mix of CRC black and gray carpet (for the jumps). The event was three qualifiers and double A Mains. >

Justin with his Reedy-powered AE RC10B6.1 was able to qualify fourth on the grid in the 17.5 2WD Buggy class. He came in a strong third after second and fourth place finishes in the double A mains. In 2WD 13.5 Stadium Truck, Justin put his RC10T6.2 with Reedy Power in the TQ spot. With the double A Mains, he was able to lay down some fantastic laps to take both main and the overall win.

Myron Battman Kinnard in his first off-road race in over 12 years, and first-ever carpet off-road race attended, and raced the Stock 2WD Buggy class. After making a lot of effort to make his classic AE B4 buggy adapt to the new carpet off-road tires and wheels, he was only able to qualify fifth after the first qualifier. Some setup and more was brought in and the Mighty B4 was much better, but still not on pace. Russell Thomas, privateer and all-around good guy, had his extra B6.2 stock build buggy on hand. It needed some Reedy Power and a little setup to match Battman's driving style. The car was night and day and Myron went from fifth to TQ in Round 2. And for the last qualifier he reset his own TQ by a lap. For the Double A Mains Battman went tone-to-tone for both and took another win for Team Associated and Reedy Power.

Team Associated and Reedy Power went up against some very talented racers and was able to win and have a great time.

Thanks you to the Apex crew and Robert Dirla for making this year number 15 for this event. Glad to see it continue and maybe more carpet off-road is in my future.
