Andrew Abbott Wins HPI Winter Champs

The Winter Champs and the Summer Nats are two of Australia's biggest race meetings. This year's recent Winter Champs would prove to be one of the most competitive, with all the countries' best drivers getting together to battle it out to become the Winter Champ.

At the end of the day, though, it was Team Associated driver Andrew Abbott who took a clean win in the Modified class. Andrew's Factory Team TC4 combined with Reedy power was just too fast for the other racers. This clean win is especially amazing because his flight arrived too late for any practice runs. The track was too wet for practice the following day. He had to go straight into qualifying!

The huge track was built to accommodate 1:8 and 1:5 scale cars, so power was crucial. All A finalists ran brushless motors with the majority using Novak and the rest using LRP systems. These units were pushed to the limit on this large track and the speed was awesome!

Team Associated congratulates the many world-class racers who put on a great show.
